Soft Drummer is now an AUv3 plugin for iOS

What changes when your session drummer lives inside Loopy Pro, AUM or your iOS DAW?
If you’ve been using Soft Drummer for a while, you know the feeling. You have a groove you love, the brushes sound exactly right, the tempo is locked, and then you need to get that into your DAW. So you open another app, try to sync via Ableton Link, export an audio file, drag it somewhere, and by the time everything is connected the moment is gone.
That’s been the reality of working with IAA. And it ends with this update.
What is AUv3 in plain language
AUv3 is the standard that lets iOS music apps work as plugins inside a host, the same way VST plugins work on a desktop DAW. Instead of running Soft Drummer as a separate app you have to juggle alongside everything else, you load it directly inside Loopy Pro, AUM, Cubasis, Logic or any AUv3 compatible host. It runs in the same session, in sync, with no workarounds. Think of it less as a feature and more as Soft Drummer finally speaking the same language as the rest of your setup.

With AUv3, you open AUM, or Loopy Pro, or Cubasis, create a new track, and load Soft Drummer as a plugin. It is there, inside your session, in sync from the first beat. If you are also using iBassist or Pop Drummer, load them on separate tracks and everything plays together in the same session. The difference is not just technical. It changes how the music happens.
More in this update
AUv3 is the headline, but this update brings more
iPhone Vertical Layout
Soft Drummer is now fully designed for how you actually hold your phone. The interface adapts to portrait mode, so you can play and record standing up, on the go, without flipping your device.

Sync with iBassist and Pop Drummer
Send Groove works in both directions. Soft Drummer can receive a groove from iBassist and generate matching drums around it, or send its own groove to Pop Drummer. Tap the Create button for a new variation every time. The three apps now talk to each other directly, whether you are in Standalone or AUv3.

Dynamic Custom Rhythm Banks
You can now create your own rhythm banks and save custom grooves directly in Soft Drummer. Build your personal library of patterns, reorder them freely and access them instantly during a live session or a recording.

Song Mode Redesign
The structure view has been rebuilt to make it faster and more visual. Building a song arrangement now takes seconds, not minutes.

Individual Reverb per Track
Each element of the kit can have its own reverb settings. The hi-hat can breathe differently from the kick. Small detail, big difference in how the mix sits.

Export Effects
When you export your audio, the effects travel with it. Reverb, compression, EQ, what you hear in the app is exactly what you get in the file. No more rebuilding your sound in the DAW.

Sound Module in Standalone and AUv3
The Sound Module is now available in both Standalone and AUv3. Use Soft Drummer as a MIDI-triggered sampler from any controller or host, in any context.

Free to try Yours forever
Soft Drummer is free to download. The free version gives you access to 3 drum kits and 3 grooves per bank. For the first 7 days you can also explore the full app including AUv3 integration, with generous limits on exports, randoms and playback.
